*Jim's unofficial notes:
*General note: A close game, tense with Eau Claire Post 53 leaving 10 men on base and Linwood Post 239 leaving 9. Linwood Post 239 had two critical errors in the bottom of the 7th.
*Eau Claire/53's starting pitcher Bennett Stokke took a pitch off his helmet in the 2nd inning, stayed in but left after pitching the 4th inning;
*Getting away with “freebies”?: Linwood/239 issued 7 walks, 3 hit-batters and 4 errors where the batter reached base - but only 2 of those 14 baserunners scored;
*The timing of “freebies” matters!: Linwood/239 gave up one walk and two errors in the bottom of the 7th to load the bases with 1 out - followed by the game-winning 2 RBI single;
*Double plays help: Linwood/239 had double plays in the first 3 innings stranding three Eau Claire/53 baserunners;
*Failure to capitalize: Linwood/239 had 5 men reach to start the 4th inning (single, single, HBP, RBI walk, RBI walk) but then a foul-out to third, a strikeout and a fly-out to center for only two runs.
*Jim's Narrative bottom of the 7th for Eau Claire Post 53 (Linwood/239-2, Eau Claire 53-1): (1) Batter safe at 1st (E3F); (2) Sac Bunt (1-3), baserunner advances to 2nd; (3) Walk (runners on 2nd, 1st); (4) Fielder's Choice/E4F to load the bases with 1 out; (5) A 2-run single to center, play at the plate on the 2nd runner ws too late (though close);
