Jim's Unofficial Recap - Pickerington Post 283 scratched out single runs in the first and fifth innings to defeat Madison Post 501 (Madison Impact) 2-0 in the American Legion Great Lakes Regional. Zachary Beaver (Pickerington Central/12-Akron) got the compete game win (no runs, 3 hits, no walks, 6 strikeouts) and Anthony Verhage (Madison La Follete/12) took the loss (2R/2er, 3H, 3-BB, 2K). Pickerington scored in the first with a walk to Devon Fisk (Pickerington Central/13), sacrifice bunt by Kyle Smith (Pickerington Central/11-Washington & Jefferson), walk to Mason McGrew (Pickerington North/11-Ohio/Lancaster) and an RBI single by Jacob Horsley (Sheridan/12-Ohio Domincan). Pickeringtom added an insurance run in the fifth with back-to-back 1-out singles by Joseph Matalon (Watkins Memorial/11-Bellarmine) and Fisk and a successful suicide squeeze by Smith. Madison got a leadoff single in the seventh by Coyt Mayr (Sun Prairie/12 - his second hit) and - following a fielders choice - another single by Taylor Carlson (La Follette/11-Madison) but Beaver got a strikeout and a flyout to end the rain-shortened game.

Jim's Unofficial Recap - Adrian Post 275 scored 4 runs in the bottom of the fifth to defeat Moline 4-1 in the American Legion Great Lakes Regional. Adrian's Anthony Wood (LHP; Adrian/13; CG/7ip, 26BF, 1R/1er, 4H, 2-BB, 5K) threw a complete game (7 innings due to rain) to defeat Cameron Kiel (LHP; Moline/12; CG/6ip, 25BF, 4R/2er?, 5H, 2-BB, 6K). Moline scored first on Timmy Wages' (3B; Moline/12-Southeast Iowa) solo homerun to leftfield. Adrian's 4 runs came with a leadoff single by Jacob Britt (RF; Tecumseh/13-Toledo), sacrifice bunt by Caleb Ebeling (DH; Adrian/12-Central Michigan), balk, walk to Jared Powell (C; Tecumseh/12-West Virginia Wesleyan), RBI/infield error by Gage Lolley (3B; Adrian/12-Siena Heights), RBI single by Marcel Grayer (LF; Adrian/12), single by TJ Baker (2B; Clinton/14) with Lolley thrown out at home by Matthew Brill (RF; Moline/13), RBI single by Tyler Frank (CF; Adrian/12-Central Michigan) and an RBI single by Tony Cappelletty (SS; Adrian/11-Albion) - a strikeout ended the inning.
