Jim's Recap -
A rematch of Thursday's game results in the same score, but this time
Moline (IL) Post 246 defeats Adrian (MI) Post 275 4-1. Moline's
Cameron Keil (Moline/12) held Adrian to 1 run and 3 hits while
Adrian's Andrew Wood fought back after a 3 run first inning to hold
Moline to one more run in the next 8 innings. Moline got three 2-out
singles in the first - a 1-RBI single by Tim Wages (Moline/12) and a
2-RBI single by Andrew Owens (Moline/13). Moline added a 4th run
when Emilio Alonso (Moline/11-Black Hawk JC) singled home Kevin
O'Keefe (Alleman/14). Adrian scored when Tony Cappelletty
(Adrian/11-Albion) doubled to lead off the fourth and subsequently
scored on an infield error. Adrian loaded the bases with two out in
the fifth on a single by TJ Baker (Clinton/14), a bunt single by
Tyler Frank (Adrian/12-Central Michigan) and an infield error but a
flyout ended the threat. From that point Keil only faced 12 batters
- one reaching on an error but a doubleplay finished that threat.
Adrian is eliminated, Moline advances to play Terre Haute for the
regional championship..
