Some thoughts -

#American Legion Baseball is about teamwork, baseball, commitment;

#American Legion Baseball is intended to be local;

#American Legion Baseball is intended to be affordable to the player;

#American Legion Baseball is intended to a collaboration of the American Legion, the community and the players;

#There is no single model of an American Legion Baseball team - last year (2019) one played in the Connie Mack World Series, several traveled to Alaska, some never left their general area. Some are well funded, some may not be. Some play as "travel ball" teams in travel tournaments and some play an exclusive American Legion schedule. Some play a heavy (40+) game schedule, some rarely play more than 20. Some (especially those with strong community support - and concessions) play a regular weeknight schedule in addition to weekend tournaments. In a number of states there are American Legion teams for most high schools and in others teams are more of a county or "area" team.

#Funding a team is no "cinch". It takes an effort - much harder than funding a team on player fees - but it may widen the program to more players - especially in the world of high school "player fees" and "pay to play".

A reminder - all this is unofficial and schedules listed by me may well be "out of date" or altered by the participants due to weather, transportation, field conditions or other "unforeseen events". - SO CHECK FIRST!
